As of today you can still get a health insurance policy for your child on a stand alone basis for October effective dates. All other health insurance companies in Georgia have withdrawn from the child only health insurance market. If you have a child under the age of 19 you will have to make application for health insurance with them listed as a dependent.
Kaiser Permanente is the only health insurance company that is still writing children on a stand alone basis for health insurance.

Kaiser made the decision to withdraw from the child only health insurance market. Currently (10/1/2010) there are NO health insurance companies offering child only health insurance plans in Georgia.

Assurant is offering CHILD ONLY health insurance through their Georgia HEALTH ACCESS basic health insurance plan. Quote, review plans apply for HEALTH ACCESS.
